My big news?!?!

We're Engaged!!!

July 5 (21)

Wednesday, August 06, 2008

I got to spend a fun evening with 3 of my really good friends.

That was a real treat since I don't get to see them much anymore.

Dsc06889

These are the couples that went out for supper -

Tim & Miriam, Tony & Julie, Ellis & Jenn, and Jason & I.

I was glad to meet Julie's little Emily for the first time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got to spend a whole week back in my beloved
Jamaica!
JA 7-08 036a
I went to visit my good friend Sharon.
 JA 7-08 043a
It was so good to see my "kids" again.
The three oldest remembered me and gave me such a warm, excited welcome.
Jahaeim
Tyrell (I picked this shirt out for him.  )
Sharon with Alex and Nikayla, the new baby
JA 7-08 029a
One day we took the kids down to the shop to get some "sweeties."
JA 7-08 035a
They have moved to a new property since I was there.
The view from their yard is amazing!
JA 7-08 021a
Sunday morning I had the privilege of doing Akelia's hair.
(I couldn't wait to cane-row her hair again.  It was so much fun!)
JA 7-08 045a
The finished product ready to go to church.
JA 7-08 049a
They have also started going to a different church since I left because of the unrest in Cantebury, but they decided to go visit Redemption Chapel that Sunday just for me.  It was so good to worship with them again.
The youth girls led the praise and worship.
JA 7-08 056a
This little lady just blessed my heart.
She is over 100 and still comes every Sunday.
JA 7-08 052a
One day I went into Blossom Gardens Childrens Home for the day.
It was fun to suprise the workers there.
JA 7-08 073a
There has been a big change of children since I left, and I only recognized around 10 of them.
Moses was only a baby when I worked there.
JA 7-08 070a
Tianna and I
JA 7-08 067a
On Sharon's day off we went shopping and then headed to the beach.
The water was so beautiful. (duh!)
JA 7-08 075a
For supper we ate at the Native.
JA 7-08 087a
They serve wonderful fruit slushies.
JA 7-08 090a
Then we spend the rest of the evening visiting with JD's.
Sharon, me, Heidi and Jessica
A few random pictures of the kids:
Tyrell giving Alex a ride.
JA 7-08 059a
It rained one evening and cooled everything off so much that Akelia wanted her jacket on.
Jahaeim being silly.
Many games were played on the bus
3
Our tour coordinators planned a suprise for us - to give a program in a cave in TN.
5
Our hosts Larry and Cheri
6
The girls had to go across this foot bridge to get to the guest house.
7
The guys stayed in the old mill house.
8
They had all sorts of things for us to do - box hockey, ladder golf, foos ball, inground trampoline,hiking and spelunking.
9
10
See that little ledge way up there in the middle of the picture???
11
I climbed up there too!!!
12
We had one accident!!  Patrick slipped in the muddy cave and gashed his leg between two rocks.
13
We praise the Lord for our resident nurse, Ida.
15
Kenneth empathizing with the wounded.
14
Larry cooked us hamburgers over the open fire.
16
This is where we stood in the mouth of the cave to give the program.
17
After the program, they took all who wanted to back into the cave to see some formations.  It was very slippery in some places. (Note A. Rosemary's muddy dress.)
18
Our tour coordinators - U. Byard and A. Rosemary
19
Laura and Sheldon
20
These girls went ALL the way through the cave.  The last half involved - rappelling up and down slippery slopes, crawling on our bellies, and inching across a natural bridge with a 25 ft. hole below.
21
Scrubbing the sticky mud off our footware in the creek after walking in the cave.
22
At another place we stayed they let us take their paddle boat out for a spin around the little island in the middle of their pond.
23
And phone calls from Jason!!!
24
On the last day we spent the day at the Creation Museum.
Go to Claire's site to see pics of that.
Then we drove through the night to get home. Don't you just love Aunt Rosie's lace night cap?
